Gained practical experience in child guidance, family counseling, and developmental interventions under expert supervision. 🔹 Worked closely with children facing learning, developmental, and behavioral challenges, planning and implementing interventions. 🔹 Conducted field visits to Anganwadi Centers to understand the functioning of Government of India’s flagship child welfare programs(Saksham Anganwadi-Mission Poshan 2.0) and assess the status of women and children in the region. 🔹 Contributed to research analysis on child development data and attended training sessions related to the field. This internship enhanced my knowledge of community-based child welfare programs and strengthened my skills in assessment, intervention planning, and policy analysis.
Gained hands-on experience in the assessment and intervention of children with disabilities under the guidance of the Occupational Therapy Department (Dr. Subodh Kr. Anand), Clinical Psychologist (Ms. Anju Thakur), and Special Educator (Ms. Suman Sharma). 🔹 Observed cases of Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Neurological Developmental Disorders, ADHD, Down Syndrome, and Speech & Hearing Impairments. 🔹 Assisted in therapy sessions, learning rehabilitation strategies for learning disabilities, communication disorders, emotional and behavioral challenges, and physical impairments. 🔹 Developed skills in case report writing, behavioral assessment, and individualized intervention planning. This internship deepened my understanding of inclusive rehabilitation practices and the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration in special education.
I successfully completed an internship at MANOVAS - Mental Wellness and Behavioural Sciences Clinic, where I gained hands-on experience in psychometric testing, report writing, and data analysis. The internship focused on personality, interest, and aptitude testing among students in Government Schools in Ropar District. During the internship ✔ Administered psychometric tests to over 800 students with precision and professionalism. ✔ Developed expertise in testing methodologies, report writing, and data interpretation. ✔ Managed and organized the testing process efficiently. ✔ Worked under the guidance of Noorjot Chahal (Senior Organizational & Counselling Psychologist) and Dipanjan Bagchi (Senior Clinical Psychologist), gaining valuable insights into the application of psychometric testing in educational settings. This internship significantly enhanced my theoretical and practical knowledge, equipping me with essential skills for a successful career in mental health and behavioral sciences. I am grateful for the mentorship and opportunities provided by MANOVAS, which have strengthened my expertise in the field.
I had the opportunity to complete my internship at the Psychology Resource Centre (PRC), SCERT, UT Chandigarh, where I gained hands-on experience in psychological testing, assessment, and counseling. PRC, established in 1986, focuses on supporting students and parents through psychological testing (academic achievement, aptitude, personality, etc.) and counseling (career, behavioral, educational). During my internship, I learned to administer and interpret various psychological tests, including: ✔ Bhatia’s Short Battery of Performance Test of Intelligence ✔ High School Personality Questionnaire (HSPQ) ✔ Differential Aptitude Tests (D.A.T) ✔ Pramila Group Test of Intelligence (PGTI) ✔ Mixed Type Group Test of Intelligence (MGTI) ✔ Memory Drum & Steadiness Tester I am deeply grateful to Ms. Serbjeet Kaur (Head, PRC), Ms. Gurpreet Kaur (Testing Assistant), and Mr. Surinder Pal (Counseling Assistant) for their guidance.
