Dr Nigel Healey is a researcher and consultant in international higher education. He has previously served as Full Professor of International Higher Education and Vice President Global and Community Engagement at the University of Limerick (2020-24), Vice-Chancellor at Fiji National University (2016-20), Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) and Head of the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences at Nottingham Trent University (2011-16), Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Dean at the College of Business and Economics at the University of Canterbury (2004–11), Dean of Manchester Metropolitan University Business School (2000–04), Head of Department of Business Studies at Manchester Metropolitan University (1996-2000) and Director of the Centre for European Economic Studies at the University of Leicester (1990-96). His current research interests are in the internationalization of higher education, transnational education and higher education policy and management and his recent publications include papers in Higher Education, Higher Education Review, Higher Education Quarterly, Higher Education Policy and Research in Higher Education. Healey has served as an economic policy advisor to the Prime Minister of Belarus and the Deputy Minister of Economy of the Russian Federation and managed a number of multinational research and economic development projects in different parts of the world. He is chair of the QS Global Advisory Committee, which organizes four international higher education conferences each year in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle-East and Africa. He is a Chartered Manager, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management and a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA), the Council of the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS, the HEGlobal Advisory Board the Council of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), the world’s first and oldest international university network, established in 1913. https://independent.academia.edu/NigelHealey
