An enthusiastic and highly motivated full time NHS consultant physician with a broad skill and knowledge base in Ageing and Health and General Internal Medicine. Based at Guys and St THomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London. Particular interest in cardiovascular disease in older adults and managing those liviing with frailty that present acutely to hospital. Committed to a holistic approach to healthcare, ensuring that patients are at the centre of healthcare delivery. Substantial experience in clinical research having co-ordinated a major international trial (The Hypertension in the Very Elderly Trial) for 10 years. It was awarded “Trial-of-the-Year” in 2008 by the prestigious Project ImpACT (Important Achievements of Clinical Trials) and the Society for Clinical Trials and has been described “one of the most important trials in the history of antihypertensive treatment.” I continue to publish in the field of hypertension. In 2010 elected a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology for contribution to hypertension research.
