Copenhagen, Capital Region of Denmark, Denmark
30 years of experience as lead creator of video games, character animation, software and film. Starting my career young - I contributed pioneering the Danish and Scandinavian games industry. Since the 1980's up until present day I have headed teams - creating and developing well over 50 games titles, as well as interactive television game shows, animated movies, series, music videos and commercials. What I love most about my job is finding good solutions to difficult challenges. Games, software, film and animation is all about the good ideas. Excellent ideas to great game-play or interesting storytelling are rarely found as a flashbulb turning on. No, you work the idea, then take it a bit further, collaborate, go at it again, scrub and rinse - and just then it might materialize as real innovation. By trade I am a character animator and a graphic artist with a special place in my heart for UX and our audience. Entrepreneurship, producing and not least directing - is my thing.
Creator and designer of games, apps and various animation and graphics based products. Responsible for project/freelance teams of 1 to 8 people. Concepts, designs, storyboards, planning, budgets, schedules, artistic/conceptual direction, technical direction, UI/UX, client contact/relations, problem solving, team and client happiness. Example: Was one of the key people in developing an international poker website/game, handling large numbers of users simultaneously.
Project Manager/Director/Producer. As the CEO I was in charge of business strategies, economics and our staff, which consisted mostly of technical and artistic employees, such as programmers, graphic designers, script writers and animators. I directed/managed most projects my self, including games, websites/content and several acclaimed international commercials. Example: I created and developed the first Cirkeline game, based on Jannik Hastrups feature film. It included a “live theatre” for children to play with the beloved characters as cut out puppets - and do their own animated movies to show to friends and family.
Game-Designer and Director of games for children. Heading teams of 3-8 people. Mostly directing, but also contributing as character animator, DOP and editor. Taking part in sales and marketing. Example: Was part of succesful Play-Jam sessions, where client companies, in just 3-5 highly efficient and creative days, end up with a number of solutions to their defined challenges - including working prototypes (apps/games) and target audience performance data.
Developed all kinds of digital concepts and managed teams of 6 to 20 people, including programmers, concept designers, graphics artists, animators, sound engineers, etc. Was consistently chosen for the most challenging projects and was the go-to-guy for innovative ideas or practical solutions. Example: Did full concept development and production of interactive educational material and game on the human immune system for young teenage students in collaboration with Kræftens Bekæmpelse (The Danish Cancer Society).
One-man company working collaboratively with external programmers, creatives and agencies. Example: As a long time project, spanning 3 decades, I have created and developed the highly acclaimed 2D animation software (animationpaper.com) for professionals and studios doing hand drawn animation.
