Teaching dramatic writing and screenwriting for film and series and script development
Teaching audiovisual communication and story-telling with a focus on screenwriting, development, creative collaboration, production, content and experience. The students work artistically and conceptually with ideas together with the audience and users as the target group.
A masterclass on how to write a short film by developing a compelling story and tackling a script outline. Examination of the fundamental elements of a good story, and how to use those elements to develop new ideas for storytelling and screenplays. The Institute of Visual Design at The Royal Danish Academy provides a setting for teaching, research and artistic development in all forms of visual design. Its researchers study visual identity, universes for television and film, and the development of games and digital products.
The masterclass in visual storytelling is an intense, academic and hands-on experience about finding and developing creative solutions. It constitutes the role of a storyteller and build narratives using different methods and materials including photography, film and design. The concept and aesthetics are key and the students will develop and refine their stories through group tutorials. Multiplatform Storytelling is essentially creative content production for an evolving, three-dimensional media space. Unlike a ‘traditional’ narrative, multiplatform stories typically evolve on one platform (film, television, web series, etc.) and can extend to secondary and tertiary platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Quibi etc.) to augment creative delivery of the narrative. Enhanced engagement afforded in these platforms can provide the audience greater agency in terms of how they can interact with the storytelling experience.
