- Responsible for cross functional leadership of SEI for import/export regulatory compliance and supply chain security program for US region with an objective to improve regulatory compliance performance and lower operating costs while achieving and maintaining full regulatory and supply chain compliance. - Establishing harmonized procedures to ensure full compliance of SEI import/export regulatory activity according to the Customs regulations of US government and its agencies in addition to SE internal requirements according to the internal control program. - Leading Customs regulatory risk management strategies and processes, consistent with requirements of all countries and regions in which SEI transacts business; collaborate in mitigating strategies and communicate to the business. - Responsible for establishing positive relationships with regulatory agencies, monitor regulatory changes, provide expert guidance, and apply them to SEI’s international trade strategies. - Responsible for managing design, developing, deploying, and implementing comprehensive Customs Compliance training program. • Managing the HTS/ECCN database with daily created material numbers internally ensuring each product (hardware, software, telecommunication equipment, promotional items) classified with appropriate HTS# and ECCN information (Latin America, EMEA, APAC, North America). • Managed the Global Classification review project based on HTS & ECCN and Software review to determine whether it’s Publicly Available or not. • Assisted third party Consulting firm on preparing Trade Compliance Guide/Business Entity Review for selected countries – especially travelled to Russia to review Russian Compliance Regulations on first hand and audit Bloomberg Moscow office trade actions with UK, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. • Travelled to Istanbul, Turkey to review Turkish Customs Compliance Regulations on first hand and audit Bloomberg Istanbul office on import/export transactions. • Travelled to Sao Paulo and Port Alegre, Brazil to review Bloomberg Brazil office on import/export transactions. • Maintain C-TPAT 5 risk assessment with Bloomberg vendors worldwide. • Maintain CCATS file for the encrypted products and assist Bloomberg EMEA, and Asia-Pac region on the import/export licenses where it needed. • Named Account Manager for the Purchasing Department team at Bloomberg LP and guide the purchasing team on the Global Trade Compliance manners and related new projects (i.e. review contracts on import/export control language, new office set up, assigning news stringers on new locations globally and Facility engineers’ tools and trade, etc.) • SAP GTS implementation/daily management – import/export license control, tariff scheme control for 106 countries configuration. • Continuously create policy and procedures on import/export compliance topics including, but not limited to, classification (HTS & ECCN), FCC, broker manual, broker score card, cross training shadowing session, import/export handling process flow, Import/Export Audit/Record retention, internal training sessions and SAP GTS.
• Communicate with Siemens Energy and Automation business units / vendors, customs brokers and US-based companies for the purpose of classifying Siemens Energy and Automation products against the U.S. tariff schedule. • Conduct compliance audits and prepare import activity reports for Siemens Energy and Automation Business units. • Interface with customs brokers for the purpose of communicating OGA (FCC, FDA, TSCA, ADD/CVD) & HTSUS codes. • Assist business units to implement import compliance programs/processes for corporate polices and relevant regulations, including but not limited to the Customs Regulations. • Audit import entries and procedures, including verification of classification, valuation, country of origin, commercial invoice, Inco-terms, documentation, and other government agency requirements. • Monitor import activity and implement corrective action for transactions processed through internal automated compliance system and respond to CF28, SIL, PEA. • Apply processes for monitoring, tracking, reconciling and reporting company activities. • Monitoring Siemens internal TMS system by running performance matrix reports, and conducting correction actions on any found discrepancies.
