Cost-effectiveness and agent-based modelling ▪ Led projects to inform investment strategies for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Ethiopia Ministry of Health. ▪ Developed agent-based and Markov models for our python-based microsimulation framework using latest Global Burden of Disease data and concepts to quantify the cost-effectiveness of health interventions for reducing child mortality and non-communicable disease burden globally.
Implementation and operational research, modeling ▪ Awarded research funding to investigate the operational impact of delivering HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for antenatal and post-natal women at health facilities in western Kenya to inform intervention scale-up using discrete-event simulation (DES) modelling.
Program implementation and evaluation ▪ Designed, implemented, and evaluated a longitudinal program on integrated point-of-care testing (IPOCT) for HIV, syphilis, malaria and anemia in seven antenatal clinics in western Kenya with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), Kenya Medical Research Institute and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KEMRI/CDC).
Rural maternal and child health ▪ Developed proficiency in Moroccan Arabic to work with local health workers and trained counterparts to provide reproductive health education to post-partum women at Tinzouline's community birthing clinic.
