About

A critical socio-political engaged research based artist as well as committed and ambitious arts administrator, with a keen interest in writing and organising. I am the organiser and host of Garage Cafe, which also includes mentoring artists, coaching them for these events. Currently, I am a core member of Mondays Collective. We organise exhibitions and brainstorming sessions to support, motivate and inspire conceptual artists. I moderate multiple events for different art institutions, from leading panel discussions to interviewing artists individually. I am always excited by the challenges and variety of project work in the arts.

Garage Cafe is a test-site-with-audience for experimenting, showing research projects, new collaborations, performances and all other types of artistic work. The Garage Cafe, is an artist-run-initiative founded by Sue van Geijn, as an experimental event with the emphasis on openness in collaboration with Garage Rotterdam. Garage Cafe tries to fill the gap within the Rotterdam art environment: It is a meeting place for experimenting, trying out new ideas as well as critical reflection. Garage Cafe creates a platform where young artists and designers are able to share and discuss their artistic practice, creative process and questions surrounding it with an audience, to not only better understand the value of their projects and practice but also how to continue. Garage Café is a joined force of Garage Rotterdam, WdKA, CBK and the City of Rotterdam, department of Culture (dKC) to collaboratively work on creating more stages in Rotterdam for anybody with an interesting story.

CBK Rotterdam invited me to moderate the discussion to conclude "Don't Forget to Check In!", participating artists Suelae Robinson, Maurik Stomps, Laura Grimm, Ciska Meister, and Alice Ladenburg, together with curator Marlene Deutinger, reflect on their contributions to the exhibition. With the help of a financial arrangement from Art Office, they were each able to realize a project outside the city limits of Rotterdam. The conversation offers an insight into the artists' working process and delves into the experiences they gained during their journey and the added value this has yielded for their practice. How do they bring these experiences back to Rotterdam? Panel Discussion: Checking In with Suelae Robinson, Maurik Stomps, Ciska Meister, Alice Ladenburg, and Laura Grimm Date - Sunday, April 5 2026 Time - 16:00–17:00, doors open at 15:30 Location - C3-studios, GYM
