🇿🇦 I am a former South African athlete, a breast cancer warrior, Oncology patient navigator, cancer exercise advisor and inspirational speaker. After the indescribable fear of being diagnosed with breast cancer to a remarkable recovery because of my fitness. 🏃♀️As a former elite athlete, running and exercise have always been a part of my lifestyle and given me incredible opportunities and opened many doors. What drives me now is the fear of a cancer recurrence evidence based research has proven the benefits of exercise physically, mentally and emotionally. 🎀 WHAT I DO. I support, educate and empower cancer patients, survivors and their familes and help them to overcome barriers of care whether through the health care system or environment and to facilitate timely access to quality medical and psychosocial care from diagnosis through all the phases of the Cancer experience. Pre-diagnosis, diagnosis, treatment, palliative and survivorship care. 🎀TRAINING. I have trained and worked under the guidance of Prof Carol-Ann Benn at Helen Joseph Hospital Breast Care Centre (February 2019 to October 2022.)Navigator at Helen Joseph Hospital Breast Clinic June 2023 to June 2024. I work as an independent Oncology patient navigator and cancer exercise advisor. I am a member of AONN Academy of Nurse and Patient Navigators USA and certified through George Washington University USA.I am a partner with Cancer Fit Oncology rehabilitation and exercise. I am a certified Oncology Patient Navigator (OPN-CG) through Academy of Nurse and Patient Navigators (AONN) U.S.A.🇿🇦 The first South African to officially have this qualification. 🎀Proudly a Pink Drive Ambassador and Co-Host of Pink Drive's Healing Mic Podcast and founder of Pink Drives Healing Hikes. 🎀 A cancer diagnosis is very scary and a never ending journey.
