    Member of the Scientific Panel, appointed by the European Commission to support the implementation and enforcement of the AI Act's rules for General-purpose AI models and General-purpose AI posing systemic risks. The Scientific Panel is an expert advisory body established by the European Commission in accordance with Article 68 of the AI Act in conjunction with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/454. 60 world-class independent AI experts have been recruited to join the AI Act Scientific Panel. These leading technical experts' core responsibilities include alerting the AI Office to systemic risks, advising on GPAI classification and evaluation methodologies and supporting market surveillance activities. The selected experts contribute with their expertise across a broad range of areas, including GPAI capability evaluation, risk assessment methodologies, technical risk mitigations, misuse/deployment risks, cyber offence risks, provider cybersecurity, emergent systemic risks, and compute measurement. The experts are appointed to the panel for a 24-month term, renewable, in personal capacity.
