RESEARCH GOALS: + Modelling defect in human cerebral development using Cerebral Organoids and develoment of innovative therapeutic approaches + Tissue engineering to protect and repair the central nervous system in neurodegenerative disorders (Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease) + Axonal regeneration and neural repair after stroke and traumatic brain injury SKILLS: + Cerebral organoids culture + Cell culture (NSCs, MSCs, hES cells, iPS cells) + Microsphere and pharmacologically active microcarriers formulation + Animals (mouse models of disease, surgeries) + Organotypic culture models of brain disorders + Cerebral organoids + Cellular and molecular biology TEACHING ACTIVITY: + Supervision of practical work in biochemestry, animal physiology, pharmacokinetic and animal experimentation
