A Human Resources professional with managerial experience in several industries; NHS, Media, Textiles and Manufacturing. Multi-site experience in all aspects of Human Resources and related training areas; including project management of major Company restructures and site closures, management of settlement agreements, the management and application of performance, absence, recruitment, disciplinary and grievance procedures, working with Trade Unions and delivering staff training. Experience • Responsible for advice and guidance on all employment related issues. • Planning, designing and delivering training sessions on HR related topics • Involved in planning and managing the HR aspects of company restructures, which may include TUPE, relocations and redundancy situations. • Involved in advising and making decisions on disciplinary and grievance issues • Negotiation and communication with Trade Union Representatives and staff councils. Special Knowledge/Aptitude • Developing and updating policies and procedures in line with employment legislation. • Advising on the interpretation of employment law • Producing management information reports on HR related areas • Managing various assessment centres, incorporating psychometric testing and SHL Competency Testing. Skills – Personal Qualities • Involved in workforce planning to ensure staffing levels are met. Plans prepared as far in advance as possible, ensuring recruitment plans meet training and operational plans. • Experience of communicating to large groups, e.g. training sessions, inductions, staff forums. Also experience of communicating sensitive information to staff, e.g. redundancy situations and dismissal outcomes. • Experience of negotiation skills in various environments e.g. forums with union representatives and management. • Supervising and developing staff. Allocating the work and ensuring standards are met with regards to HR practice and payroll deadlines.
