About

Nicola Walsh is an experienced teacher, principal and school evaluator with over 40 years’ experience in education internationally and in the UK. Nicola has worked as a head teacher in the UK and internationally. She has inspected UK government schools as an Ofsted inspector, worked for the Ministry of Education in Dubai as a school evaluator and is currently a lead inspector for British Schools Overseas. She has led teams to inspect schools in the Middle East, South Asia, North Africa and Europe. In her role as Senior Teacher for Primary and Early years with the British Council in Sri Lanka, Nicola made significant changes to the teaching of reading, curriculum provision and assessment. She presented at an online global conference on assessment for young learners of English and was an invited webinar presenter for school principals in India. Working as a consultant she has advised and trained teachers in UAE, Iraq, Cambodia, Egypt, Oman and Sri Lanka. She has contributed articles on education topics to a leading business magazine and writes extensively on education topics. Her book ‘A broad view of educational perspectives’ published by Austen McAuley is accompanied by a podcast ‘It’s a STEAL’. Both inspired by and created for teachers who work using English as a second language.
