Lead engineer responsible for the whole life cycle of all projects, from the initial concept to final disposal. The role includes Managing the project engineers, in-house design resource and undertaking lead engineer tasks.
Completing a range of tasks within the new fleet project, with the aim of ensuring trains are delivered to the correct specification, quality and time scales.
Playing a vital role in implementing modification, special checks and reliability upgrades across the fleet. My role has included supervision and spot checks of installation teams fitting CCTV and Wi-Fi with very good feedback from both the project manager and contactor team leader. I have fitted the first electric wiper mods the contractors and trained multiple staff on its fitment, Electric wipers have proved very successful on the five cabs fitted provide a strong reliability improvement. In my currently rule I’m working closely with suppliers to resolve issues with different equipment including door controllers, PBC's and other on board equipment.
Carry out a wide range of vital rolls to assist in the performance of the coach fleet both internal and franchise run. During this role I carried out an in-depth study using data to determine costs per vehicle type based on age and completed an analysis into the cost difference between internal and external maintenance.
During my time at National Express - West Midlands I completed my electrical PSV apprenticeship to a high standard and worked within many departments including but not limited to; vehicle diagnostic teams, looms replacement teams and finishing in the CCTV working across multiple depots. During my time in the depot fleet improvements such as ABS wiring loom were designed and implemented with a huge decrease in ABS faults occurring. During my time at National Express West Midland I was selected as one of three to do the Irtech level 4 licence, as well as a limited number of engineers trained on Hybrid vehicles with both Volvo and ADL.
