Lead a staff of 33 across Finance, Treasury, Endowments, Information Technology and Services, Facilities, Community Security, and Data Services at an $80+ million annual revenue and $400+ million endowment organization. Reports to the President and CEO and Chair of the Finance Committee. • Restructured financial and operational reporting to build metrics and consistency with clarity, transparency, and credibility into monthly reporting. • Built a new budget system with a single source of truth that generated strategic discussion and meaningful decisions at the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors. • Built and implemented effective cash and spending controls to encourage living within the guardrails of cash and refrain from borrowing to fund annual operations. • Developed and implemented an effective suite of key performance indicators, including revenue pacing, tracking of effective collections rates, balance sheet ratios reporting and tracking of changes in the endowment components and annual spending trajectories. • Worked closely with Information Technology group to plan and implement tools to protect sensitive data, develop and implement user security matrices on all enterprise software programs, protect mobile devices and secure data servers. • Lead a cross-functional and cross-departmental team to strategize a long-term data migration and process automation plan to build integrity into our two major databases of record. • Developed and implemented a multi-year data-centric strategy and data roadmap to connect disparate databases into a data warehouse to streamline reporting, systematize information production, and enhance accountability for organization sustainability. • Empower and nurture early-career leaders to lean into active leadership roles to build the foundation for future generations of leaders.
The CFO & CDO position encompasses accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, annual audits, and tax filings, database architecture, validation, and critical metrics reporting across multiple units within the organization. The CFO & CDO directs a staff of twenty and is responsible for Treasury and the endowment functions including tracking and reporting.
