The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is a British government department responsible for welfare and pension policy. It is the largest governmental department in terms of employees and budget. Engaged to support the development of a digital platform underpinning delivery of the UK’s strategic Universal Credit benefits service to UK citizens, reporting to Head of Product Strategy and Design. The role included delivery of a series of projects including tender evaluation, vendor selection, integration, migration and rollout. Managing vendor relationships and delivery activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and achieve agreed KPIs and contractual obligations.
March 2015 to June 2016: Goldman Sachs: Programme Manager Goldman Sachs is a multinational investment bank and financial services company, it offers services in investment management, securities, asset management, prime brokerage and securities underwriting. Appointed Programme Manager responsible for the delivery of business critical programmes including the Financing Group Platform Transformation programme and the Banking Controls programme, reporting to the Head of Banking Technology EMEA. Programme Manager for the Financing Group Platform Transformation Programme, I led development of a single platform to support the end-to-end deal lifecycle of equity and debt asset classes used in the $3.5Bn Financing Group business, including decommissioning of legacy platforms. Programme Manager for the Banking Controls Programme, I led the definition and implementation of robust controls to protect Material Non-Public Information (MNPI) in the Investment Banking Division, a $7Bn business within Goldman Sachs. Key Achievements: ◾ Designed and built a new front end, for use by GS deal teams to execute end to end deals as part of the Financing Group Platform Transformation Programme. ◾ Delivered build of front-end capability with connectivity to Ipreo product, providing additional features and capability including book building, synching of GS orders to Ipreo backend, pulling other bank orders from Ipreo to GS front end, deal reconciliation/allocation, Equity deals and Debt deals. ◾ Succeeded by defining controls compliance requirements and programme delivery sign off for the Banking Controls Programme.
As Head of Financing Group within Banking Technology responsible for delivery of business-critical projects and deal execution support for the Financing Group business. Reported to the Head of Banking Technology EMEA), I led a team of 12 consisting of Senior Technical Leads, Developers and Support staff. Managed resolution of issues and problems impacting equity, debit and bank loan deals. Key Achievements: ◾ Delivered rollout of book building and trade booking project for the EMEA bank loan business, coordinated testing and sign off and resolved all test issues. ◾ Led analysis of requirements driven by specific EMEA needs or new legislation. ◾ Implemented Mission Control function into EMEA to provide level 1 day to day support freeing developers to focus on development projects. ◾ Successfully delivered Debt Capital Markets Infrastructure Performance Uplift project to address performance issues in the debt book building platform, this resulted in a 30% improvement in the performance of the front-end application.
