As a member of the Technical Coordination Team, I contributed to ensuring the proper functioning and safe operation of the LHCb detector. In this role, my primary responsibility was serving as the collaboration’s radiation and laser safety officer.
The ‘Deep Electron FLASH Therapy' project of CHUV, CERN and THERYQ, involves the development and installation of a Very High Energy Electron (VHEE) accelerator for cancer radiotherapy, focusing on the use of the FLASH effect in ultra-high dose rate radiation therapy (UHDR-RT): ◦ CHUV project representative in various work packages; ◦ Project coordination and management within the CHUV Institute of Radiophysics IRA ; ◦ Safety and authorisation-related contact with the Swiss authorities.
Worked in the Department of Radiation Protection and Safety of the Paul Scherrer Institute as Head of the Expertise and Analyses Section. Responsibilities/capabilities include: ◦ People & Project Management as well as strategy development; ◦ Senior Manager for the dismantling of PSI’s nuclear facilities (regulated by the ENSI); ◦ Steering committee member for radiological characterization and clearance projects; ◦ Liaison with authorities, companies and organisations, especially in sensitive matters; ◦ Strong expertise in radiation measurement techniques, Monte Carlo modeling and simulation; ◦ Extensive experience with the treatment and disposal of radioactive waste; ◦ Design and development of the safety aspects of PSI’s beam interlock and access systems; ◦ Operations Manager of the PROTEUS research reactor (under IAEA Safeguard supervision).
Coordinator of research projects of the R&D Department of the University of Applied Science, Geneva (HEPIA) as well as lecturer of nuclear physics in the Bachelor`s program at HEPIA and at the School of Health Sciences, Geneva (HEdS).
