About

Building on 10+ years experience in the Information Security sector I now lead the Cyber Security arm of the business here at Microcosm. I began my career working in Application Security, developing new security features for software anti-piracy and licensing systems. By implementing such features at a low level within the operating system I gained substantial knowledge of core operating system fundamentals. Subsequently I moved on to develop network based security features for these systems where I designed and implemented client-server network protocols. From there I became the Lead Architect of SmartSign, Microcosm’s Identity & Access Management (IAM) solution. SmartSign lets organisations easily protect logins to network and internet connected applications through two-factor/multi-factor authentication. The SmartSign authentication server supports a wide range of authentication methods and hardware to provide flexibility and address varying requirements. The management system gives the organisation control over user and token life-cycles – provisioning users, assigning authentication tokens, revoking tokens and revoking user access. Now, as the Head of Cyber Security at Microcosm, I focus on fulfilling the wider digital security needs of organisations in areas including e-ID, e-Government and e-Healthcare. Our solutions leverage security hardware including smart cards, smart card readers, PKI and One-Time Password tokens, and incorporate either our existing software or bespoke software solutions tailored to meet specific client requirements.
