I worked at Nambiti during university holidays and intermittently after completing my undergraduate degree. I had multiple responsibilities from running teams doing habitat control through spraying or drone spraying to checking and fixing fences, burning controlled fires as well as many other tasks required such as feeding lions in holding areas, assisting anti-poaching, and working with vets or game capture teams. I helped manage over 70 staff.
I assisted a rural community in establishing their own safari lodge by helping run certain aspects of developing the lodge and business. This included financial forecasting, setting budgets, project managing certain parts of the lodge rebuild, running the lodge's social media and marketing, etc. This lodge has gone on to be a great success story of rural development.
