Influencing business performance and strategy from a base of solid financial management, I am an experienced Finance Director in fast moving SME environments. My formal studies together with over 20 years of experience enable enriched contribution into overall business direction and support for operations and marketing functions. Most rewarding aspects so far revolve around being part of a leadership team that have positioned a number of businesses as clear market leaders, as well as management buy-out, acquisition and disposal of businesses and elements of the operation.
Pure Vision FD provides practical hands-on Finance Director support to SME's across a variety of industries, as well as fulfilling finance project roles within larger businesses. Working primarily with ambitious high growth businesses, recent assignments have included an international software innovator, a PE backed online property crowd funding platform, a family owned organic pesticide business, as well as a National planning project in the UK vehicle accident repair market.
With a revenue of £350 miliion Nationwide Accident Repair Services operate nationally from over 120 vehicle repair sites and 85 mobile repair vans. Network Services is the central volume deployment division with 120 employees operating from two call centres. Following Nationwide's acquisition of Howard Basford I moved to a role as Head of Finance for Network Services and Mobile Repair, responsible for all P&L and balance sheet reporting, planning and management support. The central nature of the role also required involvement in Group capacity planning and evaluation of various strategic options for providing repair services on a National basis.
After joining a cash constrained business with £300k revenue from a single site, I was proud to be FD in the management team that grew Howard Basford to £15million revenue from 6 sites before selling to Ford Motor Company. As Divisional FD under Ford ownership I contributed to further growth as well as satisfying the reporting and compliance requirements of a US Listed Company. Later I was part of the management team in a unique MBO deal that brought the business back into our private ownership. After a period of consolidation then further growth to £20million sales from 8 sites the business was acquired by Nationwide Accident Repair Services Plc, the AIM Listed market consolidator.
Inglewood Manor is a charming country house hotel set in 38 acres outside Chester. I was FD in the management team that developed a successful business and financing plan to secure bank funding for the acquisition and transformation of Inglewood from a standing start into a vibrant Hotel & Conference Centre with 30% year on year growth in revenues. Rapidly becoming the local market leader for weddings events and conferences Inglewood was successfully sold to a trade buyer.
