Nicholas A. Moore, PhD is an internationally recognized drug discovery & development specialist serving the pharmaceutical, biotech and academic drug discovery/development groups. Nick has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of discovery & development from early compound identification to clinical Proof of Concept (PoC). Areas of Expertise: Drug Discovery. Idea to clinical PoC. Candidate to clinical PoC. CRO vendor selection. Design of efficacy studies. Preclinical development. Animal models. Early biomarker selection. Preclinical substance abuse evaluation. Design and coordination of translational studies. Nick received a doctorate in behavioural pharmacology from the University of Birmingham, England and went on to join Eli Lilly and Co in the United Kingdom. Nick was an original member of the team that discovered olanzapine (Zyprexa) with responsibility for coordinating preclinical studies associated with the compound's development and commercialization. In 1999, he received the prestigious 'Society for Medicines Research Award for Drug Discovery' for his contributions to the discovery and development of olanzapine (Zyprexa). In 2005, Nick joined Lundbeck Research USA as Associate Director Neuroscience with responsibility for the preclinical development of Lundbeck's late-stage antidepressant, vortioxetine (Brintellix / Trintellix). Nick then joined Albany Molecular Research Inc. (AMRI) as Director of Development and Pharmacology with responsibility for overseeing AMRI's late-stage internal drug discovery programs, including identifying partnering opportunities. In 2015, Nick was named Senior Director, Scientific Business Development at Brains On-Line LLC, a specialist preclinical in vivo pharmacology CRO. Brains On-Line LLC was acquired by Charles River Laboratories in August 2017. In 2020 Nick joined BioAscent as Director of Business Development (North America). Recently, Nick became Chief Scientific Officer at MycoMedica Life Sciences.
