    This role provides executive leadership that supports the Officer Commanding (OC) and provides direction to 7 Wing members in facilitating a modern training system delivering relevant aviation-based pathways to cadets within the region. The scope of this role requires an executive leader who drives the customer service standards of the Wing Headquarters and Squadrons whilst managing the Commanding Officer Group on behalf of, and supported by, the OC. Responsible for evolving a positive culture and the quality control of training, activity management, staff performance management, promotion recommendation, complaint management, and the maintenance of key organisational governance requirements. Responsible for: • Champion safety leadership across all areas and operations. • Enhance the cadet experience by providing feedback to SOT on the delivery of SQN training. • Actively participate in enhancing the 7 Wing culture within the region to ensure staff and volunteers feel valued. • Deputise when the OC is not available in circumstances requiring immediate action or approval. • Manage complaints IAW AAFC complaint management policy. • Based on identified governance and development needs, coordinates a targeted Squadron visit program that includes weekly parades and weekend activities. • Provide advice and guidance to the SLT on emerging trends, issues, proposed solutions and change processes occurring within the region. • Identify individual training requirements for staff within the region to develop and extend our people. • Proactively identify training resource deficiencies within SQN’s and provide solutions to resolve these issues. • Assist CO’s with activity recommendation and or approvals when circumstances dictate, or key personnel are not available. • Authorise SQN activities IAW AAFC policy and procedures. • Duties as directed by the OC.
