I lead the UI vision, quality, and accessibility for My Telstra — one of Australia’s most widely used digital products, serving 8 million users across iOS, Android, and responsive web. Over the past 8+ years, I’ve been deeply involved in shaping the evolution of My Telstra into a cohesive, accessible, and best-in-class market leader. This journey has required sustained ownership across design systems, brand implementation, accessibility uplift, and experience consistency at scale — not just individual feature work. I currently lead, mentor, and coach a team of 12 UI designers, setting the bar for craft, usability, and AA+ accessibility compliance across all surfaces. I act as a central point of accountability for UI quality and coherence, ensuring that new work aligns with long-term experience vision rather than short-term delivery pressure. Beyond people leadership, I work hands-on with our design system, accessibility, brand, and marketing teams to embed systematic design thinking into how the product is built, evolved, and governed. My role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution — translating vision into scalable, real-world outcomes that millions of Australians use every month.
Currently, I lead, mentor & coach a team of 12 user interface designers all working on the ‘My Telstra’ app. Together, we’ve launched the product to an audience of 5 million users, with an estimated open rate of 15 million per month, all while simultaneously meeting AA+ accessibility standards at a very large scale across IOS, Android, and responsive web. In addition to this, I work very closely with an internal design system and accessibility teams to ensure an inclusive and consistent end-user experience. Notable My Telstra stats: • App store score has risen from 2-4 stars during my time as Lead UI designer • 5m Australians use it monthly...that’s 1 in 4 adult Australians • Rated 3rd best utility app in the App store...sitting only behind Chrome and Google • Over 80 features - many of which could be their own app • Customer calls have been reduced by 70% • eNPS is up 14 points Previous roles at Telstra: Senior Visual Designer - Telstra Design System team (2018) • Key member of Telstra’s first Design System team, rolled out design pattern libraries at scale, lead onboarding workshops advocated & supported systematic design thinking Lead Visual designer - Telstra 24/7 App (2017-18) • Lead a major interface design uplift across all key components and flows, reaching 4.9 million users (IOS, Android) Senior Visual Designer - E-sim/Apple watch collaboration (2017) • Lead creative direction in a collaboration with Apple, bringing E-sim technology into the Australian market (IOS, Web) Senior Visual Designer - E-commerce (2016) • Lead visual direction across e-commerce journey flows (explore through to checkout) - (Web)
