UPS Vice President Marketing for Rates and Forecasting is responsible for Business Planning, Pricing, Pricing Technologies, Revenue Management and Forecasting. Previously UPS Vice President for Digital Experience and E-commerce Strategy including global web sites, mobile applications and digital commerce connectivity platforms. Additional responsibilities included creating and implementing a broad portfolio of UPS growth and customer experience initiatives in both Consumer and B2B e-commerce. Prior to this role Nick Basford headed up UPS International Marketing where he directed all of UPS’s marketing, business planning, and revenue management activities for the 220-plus countries that make up the UPS International business. Basford joined UPS in 2005 via UPS’s acquisition of Lynx Express Ltd in the UK, where he had worked in high-level marketing positions since 1994 and was a founder shareholder in the company MBO of 1997. He held the position of marketing director for UPS in the UK and Ireland from 2005 until 2010. He then relocated to Brussels and was UPS’s Director of Communications for all of UPS EMEA from 2010 until 2011. In 2011 he was promoted to Vice President of Marketing for the EMEA Region, a role he held until 2014 when he relocated to the UPS Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia to take on responsibility for the global UPS marketing organization. He holds an MBA from the University of Nottingham Business School and has more than 30 years of experience in leadership, marketing, digital commerce and communications roles in multi-national companies including high tech and banking sectors as well as logistics.
Development and implementation of all aspects of UPS strategy globally in both the consumer and B2B segments of e-commerce.
