Provides a variety of professional technical expertise in the areas of data management, asset management, transportation planning, and systems planning in both the Seattle and San Francisco Bay Area. Current primary project: Providing SQL and database expertise to WSDOT's Tolling division to manage the data aspects of monthly reporting requirements, while streamlining the report generation process. Provides QA/QC on data products, ad hoc reporting support, and support in transitioning to a new reporting server.
As MTC's Asset Management Program Coordinator, I was the primary data analyst for the Regional Transit Capital Inventory (RTCI) and its steward. During my time at MTC, I built the current SQL based version of the RTCI, worked with regional stakeholders at the 26 transit operators to perform a complete update of the dataset, and developed applications for the RTCI to support TERM Lite economic modeling. During my time as the RTCI steward, the RTCI was converted from an Excel based data collection system to a web based solution. I developed the RTCI data collection template that was at the center of the update process, wrote the requirements documents for the web application, and regularly worked with MTC's GIS section to develop and troubleshoot the new RTCI website. As a result, the data collection process was completed on time, did not require redundant data entry, and the uploaded dataset was subjected to detailed data screening by way of SQL stored procedures. In addition, the $57B of assets represented in the finalized 2015 RTCI dataset can be queried quickly, or consistently transformed into a variety of data exports to support regional needs. As one example, the RTCI can instantly create TERM Lite compatible inventories for individual operators, allowing operators to use the same inventory for long term economic projections as MTC. In addition to my work on the RTCI, I also supported work done by colleagues in the areas of pavement management, performance assessment, and public policy. In particular, I was the analyst for the 2014 and 2015 MTC Annual PCI Report and I supported Dave Vautin's SGR performance assessment work with TERM Lite modeling.
While working full time at MTC, I provided continued IR support to Bates Technical College for the duration of the 2014 calendar year.
At Bates Technical College, I was a research analyst in the Department of Institutional Research. This position involved studying the college itself to support planning, operations, and external reporting requirements. As the institutional research analyst, I worked with a variety of datasets to deliver actionable information, including Microsoft Access based finalized reports from the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and the student/financial management system database (using both the HP3000 reporting tool to pull live information and Microsoft SQL Server to perform more robust analysis). In addition, I also was responsible for the student satisfaction survey (which was converted to an online system), worked closely with the on-campus diversity center to support their mission, and was the data analyst for the successful Year 7 Accreditation Report.
