About

As a driven and inquisitive Diploma in Chemical Engineering (DCHE) student at Singapore Polytechnic, my academic journey is driven by a curiosity for science and engineering with a desire to apply this knowledge through the creation of solutions to problems. To complement my academic studies, I constantly sought opportunities that allow me to develop as an individual that is concerned about our environment and society. I had the privilege of representing my institution in international and national-level leadership programmes. At Toba College, Japan, I worked with students from across the world to create a desalination device to convert seawater into fresh water. At the National Youth Council Leadership Camp and Polytechnic Forum under the Singapore Young Leaders Programme, I learned about Singapore’s challenges and engaged with political office holders on topics that would shape the lives of young Singaporeans These experiences have shaped my understanding of the interconnected nature of global and societal issues ranging from climate change and digital transformation. Engaging with peers has given insight into the level of interest youths like me are into addressing these issues. It has also improved my communication, leadership, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. Beyond national initiatives, I am also involved in my campus community. I have served as a student presenter during Singapore Polytechnic Open House. I welcomed prospective students by providing them with authentic first-hand insights into my academic life such as the learning environment and student culture. I found it rewarding to be able to share my experience, knowing that such conversation may positively influence someone’s educational choice. I am humbled to receive prestigious accolades such as the A*STAR Science Award (Poly) which honours students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and research potential. This award affirmed my passion for scientific inquiry and my commitment to contributing to research that matters to society. I was also awarded the Director’s Honour Roll for Academic Year 2023/2024, a recognition of my good academic performance. I am always excited to work in dynamic, collaborative environments where innovation is valued and learning is continuous. I believe in continuous learning and the importance of staying adaptable in a fast-changing world. I look forward to connecting with like-minded peers, professionals and mentors who are committed to engineering a better and more sustainable future for our society.
