Nicholas is an experienced surveyor and business leader with a track record of building businesses in Facilities Management, property advice, property management and investment. Professionally qualified as a general Practice Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, a Member of the British Institute of Facilities Managers and a Chartered Environmentalist, he advises clients in a wide range of asset management, cost management and investment opportunities. Nicholas early career saw him qualify and practice as a general practice surveyor in Surrey, before joining CB Hillier Parker’s Shopping Centres team to manage a diverse portfolio including offices, shopping centers, retail parks and leisure complexes. He joined Metrus in 2001, rising through the company to become an Equity Director and Board member after successfully building Pearl FM. This Facilities Management subsidiary tenders and administers contracts with an annual value of £36m and remains the most profitable division in the practice. Nick also established an FM business in Qatar in 2011, which grew rapidly to turn over in excess of £4m. He has also consulted extensively in Dubai and on occasions in India an Azerbaijan. Nicholas remains an advisor to a major London firm and a number of international clients based in the UK and Gibraltar as part of a growing portfolio of roles that has seen him found The Property Company, a consulting firm for property interests mainly in the UK and Gibraltar, and also Investas Property, which seeks to build a portfolio of UK based properties for private investors. Nicholas is Professionally qualified as a general Practice Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, a Member of the British Institute of Facilities Managers and a Chartered Environmentalist. His experience and contribution to the sector is recognized through his appointment as a senior examiner for RICS, assessing senior candidates’ merits to join the professional body.
A Director of The Property Company, which provides Property and Facilities management consultancy in the UK and Gibraltar together with direct contracting of FM and Property management services for a number of international and local clients.
During the early stages of my career I was involved in a multi disciplined practice dealing with all aspects of commercial and residential management. In 1992 my horizons were widened moving into the property company arena working for the well established direct investment company Freshwater and latterly I redirected my career back to an agency environment with Hillier Parker and later Metrus. I was responsible for the formation of a specialist Facilities management division Pearl FM, tendering and coordinating a substantial number of facilikties contracts covering a wide range of properties including shopping centers and office buildings. The section is now a core part of the Metrus group structure and has been the most rapidly expanding division over the past 5 years I became an equity director in 2004 and have special responsibilities for overseas development of the company. We are currently working in the UAE , Qatar and more recently Azerbaijan.
