Responsible for co-ordination of business planning, project and portfolio economics. Leading a team of petroleum economists and finance professionals in providing high quality decision support to business leaders, asset managers as well as project and sub-surface teams. Key achievements included the design, development and roll out of new business planning and capital allocation processes. This involved managing stakeholders at all levels in the business from divisional senior management to junior operational staff across a wide variety of disciplines.
Responsible for long term portfolio modeling and scenario analysis. This includes presenting analysis, commentary and conclusions to local MD, FD and Strategy Director. Heavily involved in writing materials for CEU management's strategic reviews with Group executives (including Group CEO and CFO). Key link between CEU Strategy team in Aberdeen and the teams at Centrica Energy and Group levels in Windsor. Counsellor for two ACA students on the Centrica graduate programme.
CEU launched in Jan. 2010 following the merger of UP&D and Venture to create a £1.5bn turnover (50 mmboe p.a.) business with six regions in five locations spread across four countries. Designed and implemented new forecasting and performance management process. This included: Co-ordination and close support for regional finance teams Analysis of and commentary on regional submissions for CEU management team Financial model design, roll out and training Managing relationship with CE business unit in Windsor head office As a result the business delivered its first bottom up three year forecast within a few months of being launched allowing management to see the performance and shape of the new organisation for the first time Responsible for subsequent monthly and quarterly financial reforecasts and delivering continued process improvement including: Full rebuild of UK tax models in 2011 Design and build a detailed gross cost forecasting model for Dutch region to allow them to better integrate their external deliverables to JV partners with internal forecasts Heavily involved with 2011 forecasting process improvement project including managing involvement of external consultants The project delivered a blueprint for future automation of the forecasting process, including a shortlist of potential software suppliers.
Responsible for consolidation and analysis of actual and forecast submissions from regions Delivered new monthly management review process Dealt with steep learning curve despite no prior oil & gas experience Chose to move to Aberdeen following Group's purchase of Venture to build on the first few months in the oil & gas business
