I have had over 25 years experience in the Sports, Entertainment, Media and Events business across a wide spectrum of companies and businesses. With a successful history in sales and marketing roles and multiple achievements with leading global corporations I have paved a diverse career in Sports Marketing and Event Management working in London, Toronto, Sydney, Brisbane, Noosa and the Sunshine Coast whilst travelling extensively with each role. I have worked principally in the commercial / corporate sector but also in the not for profit sector, media and the government / public sector to expand my skills and knowledge and networks. My passion is to work with other like minded people on projects that either have potential to grow and expand or that require someone with sufficient wisdom and insight to turn things around or improve. I am a high achiever and results orientated person with old school ethics and morales who is not afraid to get their hands dirty. My personal sporting achievements aside from schoolboy cricket, tennis, athletics and football, include being a 3 time Club Champion at Royal Sydney Golf Club, a former winning captain and steersman of the 42km Hamilton Island Outrigger Canoe race and a finisher of the Australian IRONMAN triathlon. I've also completed the 3.8km Waikiki Rough Water Swim and many other Triathlons and swim, bike, run and adventure sport events, the Hillary Tenzing Everest Marathon, the 62km Mad Trail run in Valmorel in the French Alps, the Eiger Ultra 100km Trail Run in Switzerland and I'm a passionate and highly accomplished snow skier ! I'm also a Top 100 course Judge for Australian Golf Digest.
An ideal and concept driven initiative to pursue and develop new and exciting opportunities in the fitness, health, and lifestyle sectors which ultimately contribute to overall well being of all Australians. My remit involves event creation, IP development and leveraging via multi media, digital and social media platforms. I'm open to working with anyone on any of their projects as well !
Really proud to have staged a new event for Noosa, the Sunshine Coast and Queensland. The Noosa Ultra Trail in March with 6 distances - 15km, 25km, 30km, 50km, 80km and 100km. The trail routes take in Noosa's National Parks and the Hinterland region. As a parallel career move and transition platform I formed a boutique consultancy specialising in the Arts, Sport and Events. I offer my 25 years of experience to any partners or businesses that need assistance with current events, client or intellectual properties that need commercial 'improvement'. Areas of expertise include sponsorship, sales, marketing, event creation, consultancy & advisory services. My strengths are to work with either existing or emerging brands and events in their infancy or with companies having resource challenges. I can help grow their reach, increase their value and brand equity through 'street smart' marketing strategies, pro active BD and old fashioned hard work in sales. I also believe that "it's not what you know but who you know" that counts. These elements coupled with a little luck all add up to clients achieving goals and desired outcomes whilst fully embracing the journey !!
In late 2018 I took over the role of National Partnerships Manager as a 14 month maternity leave cover. The position focused principally on building upon the success the organisation had achieved over many years with key government and commercial partners across its burgeoning events portfolio in the region.
I joined the Events Unit within the Economic Development and Major Projects Branch of the Council. The Sunshine Coast continues to experience tremendous growth in tourism and its events portfolio contributed to the region being a key destination for global and national major events. It was an exciting time to be part of a dynamic team and on Queensland's fabulous Sunshine Coast.
