· Supervises and monitors geophysical projects in the southeast region and surrounding areas to ensure that work is executed on time and in accordance with the client's requirements and Terracon quality procedures. · Supervises the preparation of proposals and cost estimates to clients to ensure proper scoping of services, availability of manpower, and pricing to achieve desired profitability. · Supervise the daily operations of geophysical operations including staff training, development, and performance review, utilization of equipment, safety oversight, and quality and timely delivery of services. · Plans for and participates in business development activities to identify, develop, win, and execute project opportunities and build client relationships.
· Conducts desktop and field investigations to assess geologic conditions and karst hazards. · Performs and plans geophysical surveys including seismic, resistivity, TEM, and GPR. · Manages geophysical projects and instrumentation to coordinate field surveys. · Prepares logs of wells, field test data, proposals, and reports of geologic, geophysical, and engineering information.
· Conducts desktop and field investigations to assess geologic conditions. · Identifies, maps, and evaluates potential geological / morphological conditions or hazards. · Obtains, processes, correlates, evaluates, and plots field instrumentation data. · Prepares logs of wells, field test data, proposals, and reports of geologic and engineering data.
· Instrumentation of geotechnical projects including SAA, piezometer, settlement plate, and inclinometer monitoring. · GIS and Surfer database management of projects for legacy projects and individual project sites. · Geologic profiles and depositional histories for particularly geologically complex sites in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi. · Support of engineering tasks through proposal and report writing for a variety of projects including instrumentation, load test, and pre-load/surcharge monitoring projects.
· Supported contract position through geodatabase creation and management in ArcGIS. · Partially automated the QA/QC process and drastically reducing the manpower required for data clean-up by writing, managing, and editing SQL scripts for the batch check tool. · Created template maps and layer files with built-in features, decreasing errors with attribution on data review. · Utilization of GAIT, ArcMap, ArcScene, and ArcCatalog as primary tools.
· Eliminated a backlog of 600 feet of marine sediment cores through geotechnical, geophysical, and geochemical analysis. · Created a geodatabase of Naval sediment cores through digitization, compilation, and production of over 2,000 scientific reports. · Integrated new geotechnical methods by writing and editing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory and field sampling. · Researched and presented findings on seafloor interactions with objects free-falling through the water column, entitled Sediment Data and Object Burial
· Geotechnical laboratory analyses of soil cores and rock cores according to ASTM standards. · Field sampling and analysis for geotechnical and Environmental Remediation projects (Phase I/II).
· Shift manager to help reduce student loan debt throughout college.
