I am currently a student at Wabash College, studying Mathematics and Computer Science. I speak English and Spanish. I am a swimmer on the swim team at Wabash as well, and have been swimming competitively for 15 years. I love baseball, and currently work with the Wabash baseball team as a tech intern, where I also assist in data analysis and scouting.
While my official title is Technology Intern, I function primarily as a data analyst for the Wabash College Baseball team. I work with pitchers using their pitch data from the pitch tracking software Rapsodo to help them improve their craft. I combine video analysis with movement profiles to help them form a better understanding of the way their pitches move and how they can best utilize their skillset. I also teach about how spin affects the movement of the ball and how they can maximize the effectiveness of a certain pitch type. I also conduct offensive analysis for the position players, using linear weights to calculate run expectancy and wOBA for the batters. This allows the hitters to have a deeper understanding of their performance, and helps me help them improve. At games, I take notes about pitch sequences, and at bats of players to allow me to analyze them at a later date.
I work as a part time coach for Carmel Swim Club. I primarily work as an assistant coach with kids ranging from 8-14 years old. I help athletes improve at swimming and develop strong skills as a teammate.
