Scranton, Pennsylvania, United States
I'm a dedicated Finance major with a minor in Accounting at the University of Scranton, where I've cultivated a strong foundation in financial principles. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), I stand out for my clear communication and collaborative spirit. I'm eagerly searching for internship opportunities in the Scranton or Binghamton area for the summer of 2024, where I can contribute my skills and gain practical experience in the fields of finance and accounting, all while nurturing my passion for financial analysis and strategy.
As a Tax Intern, I assisted in the preparation of individual income tax returns (Form 1040) for a wide range of clients during the spring filing season. I worked directly with client-provided documents such as W-2s, 1099s, and Schedule C income, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with IRS regulations. Using Intuit Lacerte software, I gained hands-on experience in navigating tax software, reviewing return inputs, and supporting the overall tax preparation process. I regularly communicated with clients to clarify information and resolve discrepancies, helping ensure timely and accurate filings. Throughout the internship, I was commended for my attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role strengthened my understanding of tax law, improved my client service skills, and reinforced my interest in accounting and compliance.
