I participated in a 3-week Explorer's Club (TEC) Flag Expedition in search of new endemic species of cave adapted insects of Easter Island. As lead photographer I documented the trip and photographed many of the newly discovered insect species found on the island. As Deputy Expedition Lead I helped develop safe routes for the team to deploy and recover field instruments as well as overseeing the laboratory work. I supervised and led field operations of the 4+ person team when the Expedition Lead was completing tasks outside of the field.
Photography Vision We live between distractions. I venture into the wilderness not to timidly escape, but to boldly find myself. The further I journey away from modern comforts the more alive I feel. In these moments I find beauty. Simplicity. Freedom. These are the moments I cherish. Here you will find an archive of the most unique moments hidden in remote landscapes. Captured in time by photography. Composed to energize the emotion of the space. Reproduced to share with the world.
I work as a trail guide leading clients on multi-day backpacking trips through the rugged Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Parks. In addition to explaining local history and geology to the clients, I supervise group safety and provide medical care within the scope of practice of my EMT-B.
I worked alongside multiple physicians as a scribe in the Emergency Department for Banner Healthcare. This position allowed me to write patient histories, record the review of systems and physical examinations, import labs and radiology into charts, bolster my medical lexicon, and observe how doctors deliver care through a variety of emergency procedures.
I photo documented the journey to a hidden cave in Arizona lead by the National Park Services in conjunction to scientific studies done by Dr. Jut Wynne (FM '06).
