www.nicholasgardiner.com Nicholas Gardiner is an Australian screen composer whose work spans animated television, feature films, documentaries and award-winning short films. Based in Perth, Western Australia, his music has been heard by audiences worldwide through internationally broadcast television series and films recognised at major festivals across Australia, Europe, Asia and North America. Locally, Nicholas has become a sought-after collaborator for emerging directors and producers. His recent projects include Trading Cards, directed by award-winning filmmaker Radheya Jegatheva, The Canary, a Western Australian period feature produced by Salt & Honey Productions, and Whale Shark Jack, on which he served as assistant composer. The film is currently streaming on Stan. Nationally, Nicholas co-composed two seasons of the animated television series 100% Wolf, contributing more than half of the music across the series' 52 episodes in partnership with Envelope Audio. Produced by Flying Bark, the series has been broadcast internationally across Europe and the Americas. Nicholas's score for Trading Cards has received widespread recognition on the international festival circuit. Following its premiere at Flickerfest, where it won the Yoram Gross Award for Best Australian Animated Short Film, the film screened at SXSW London, receiving the Jury Special Mention Prize, as well as Hong Kong International Film Festival, Animafest Zagreb and numerous other festivals worldwide. In 2026, Nicholas was nominated for Achievement in Original Music at the WA Screen Culture Awards for his score to Trading Cards, with the film receiving eight nominations overall. He was also nominated in the same category in 2023 for An Origin Of Rape Culture.
