I am a mechanical engineer with a demonstrated history of developing quality components and assembly designs with an emphasis on performance and manufacturability. My strong knowledge of various 3D modeling software programs such as SolidWorks, Catia, and Creo, along with competency in FEA analysis using ANSYS, have granted me opportunities to work on a wide range of projects including several innovative new truck designs in the fire and emergency vehicle industry. In addition to my background in mechanical component and sheet metal design, I had the opportunity to be a co-author of a research paper in which my primary role was performing quantitative data analysis using Matlab, and collaborating with a professor from another university to conduct qualitative data analysis. My priorities as an engineer are not limited to design work and analyses. I place emphasis on working closely with manufacturing teams to streamline production, solve problems, and make improvements where necessary. Please view my experience below to read about additional projects, skills, and experience.
• Worked collaboratively to design automated equipment using robots, pneumatic actuators, electrical components, and mechanical hardware for medical, defense, and consumer product industries • Created detailed machine manuals and documentation adhering to industry standards • Led internal and customer design reviews to communicate expectations, progress, and technical information • Automated engineering processes through CAD API and macro development to reduce design and release errors • Supported manufacturing via continuous improvement efforts and providing guidance during machine assembly
• Supported new product development as a lead on several projects that have set market trends and awarded numerous government contracts • Created detailed designs and worked closely with manufacturing to surpass production efficiency goals and achieve over 96% bill of material accuracy across all product offerings • Developed truck layouts, reviewed options, created bills of materials, communicated with vendors, and released change notices to configure customer orders according to NFPA standards and meet an engineering schedule • Implemented designs to more accurately mount chassis components for maintaining desired driveline angles and special weldments to address warranty claim issues and increase weld cell productivity
• Conducted content analysis of open-ended, qualitative data as an undergraduate researcher in support of engineering education research studies of the flipped classroom • Analyzed flipped classroom performance by writing a Matlab script that supports the use of adaptive learning and shows small correlations to other metrics
• Designed fuel injector components to meet specified requirements • Worked with other departments to have newly designed injectors simulated and tested • Helped lead a research and development project for a new nozzle design through several stages of early production
