Providing holistic, compassionate, family-centred care for children diagnosed with oncological and hematological diseases. Achieved CVAD competency - proficient in managing and maintaining CVAD devices atraumatically for children undergoing treatment. Established in 1990, SPINRPHEX is the oldest rural health club for allied health students. As a committee, we meet monthly to plan engaging events and workshops to encourage careers within remote Western Australia. As the Nursing & Midwifery Officer, my portfolio was responsible for collaborating with RACGP to organise the annual 'GP Obstetrics & Midwifery Workshop', coupled with voicing rural immersion opportunities to Bachelor of Nursing students. This year, we have successfully organised - Education Night in collaboration with RFDS, Aboriginal Interpreting WA & Plastering Skills - RFDS Jandakot Base Tour - RACGP GP Obstetrics & Midwifery Workshop - SMARTCare6: Suturing Workshop - Rural Highschool Visits: advocating and encouraging careers in healthcare to regional students in Western Australia.
Established therapeutic relationships with elderly residents . Assisted residents with their activities of daily living. Administered medications to residents, and assisted with nursing tasks (basic wound care, vital signs). Practiced the Care with Purpose model: centering the care philosophy around each resident's identity, values and needs.
