As the Director of Research at the Economic Innovation Group I conduct and facilitate policy relevant research on a range of topics including business dynamism, innovation, and economic opportunity. https://ngoldschlag.github.io/
I work on a variety of projects related to the measurement of business dynamics, innovation, and entrepreneurship. I also work to integrate university administrative records with Census Bureau microdata on businesses and people. Once linked, these data provide unique measures of the economic impacts of research trained individuals. I also study business dynamics, developing new measures of employment flows, startups, and exits for interesting subsets of the economy.
As a researcher at the IEC I analyzed data on Florida’s metropolitan areas and assembled summaries of current economic and political developments. I also had the opportunity to become familiar, as an undergrad, with scholarly research on a variety of macroeconomic topics. As a part of my research duties, I also analyzed forecast output for quality assurance. Finally, I organized and compiled Florida county level data on variables such as personal income, industry employment, and labor force composition.
