As a Sr Manager at BLUE ORIGIN, I oversee the advanced weld development supporting engineering and rocket systems fabrication for the TFO-LAUNCH FACILITY DEVEL project, working with a team of highly skilled engineers and technicians to deliver innovative and reliable solutions. I have extensive knowledge and expertise in contract management, government contracting, and Microsoft Office, which I leverage to ensure compliance, quality, and efficiency in all aspects of the project. Indirect Reports: Quality, Shipping & Receiving , Procurement, Environmental Impact. Duties and Responsibilities: *Under general direction has responsibility for ensuring that production and quality requirements are met, appropriate staffing levels are maintained, employee relations are good, and a safe/clean work environment is maintained. Plans, directs, coordinates and controls manufacturing activities to achieve established goals. *Communicate daily with Management, Engineering and Quality team-leads and support personnel regarding safety, quality, productivity, staffing, equipment and continuous lean improvement activities. Create and monitor schedules and reports to maintain the flow of operations both for and between shifts. *Manage team member's performance following established company policies and procedures including completing performance reviews, rewarding/recognizing, and disciplining. *Additional duties as assigned by Management to maximize production efficiency.
Machine & Manufacturing Engineering & Test JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE Directly responsible for the hands on production operations leading a team of approximately 80+ indirect reports and approximately 20+ direct reports. Operations leadership includes: recruiting, developing, training, coaching, goal and performance management. There is also Value Stream leadership responsibilities for safety, cost, quality and delivery. One primary objective is to manage direct/indirect cross functional employees as “natural work teams” or “mini-business units”. The manufacturing processes produce close tolerance aerospace components for satellites. Typical processes include: milling, turning, grinding, painting, corrosion control, plating, potting, conformal coating, CNC programming, assembly, testing, non-destructive testing, dimensional and visual inspection techniques, and electro-mechanical assembly/test. Responsible for department business metrics / trends and drive people and process improvements as well as a lean / six sigma champion.
