Buying Soft Trims (Carpet, NVH/ Sound Insualtion, Trunk floor, Package Tray, Sunblind, Headliner, Sunvisor etc) & Hard trims (Pillar & Trunk trims) from Dec’19 Non-Woven, Fabric, PU Foam chemicals & various other Raw material required to manufacture Soft trim / Interior products from Mar’20 Buying various Steel raw material (coil, blank, tubes, wire) required to manufacture Seat Commodities from Dec’20 Purchased Body In White (BIW) & Stamping parts until Dec’19
• Lead program & product sourcing liasion with match paired departments for current & upcoming program parts. • Lead program/ project activities from initial planning to execution phase • Lead sourcing activities liaising with suppliers, engineering, testing & quality for current & New products • Identify suppliers, assess them through self-evaluation matrix & collect data modules for internal evaluation • Manages commerials & lead project portfolio and project evaluation in terms of feasibility, investment decision process and contribute by evaluating opportunities based on overall savings. • Lead in gathering all investment approvals, track and release investments • Tracks all activities within program / project. • Lead team in generating ideas to reduce the possible costs during program execution phase. • Initiate & support local VA/VE discussions/ acitivites with buyers
This is an add-on profile to commodity buyer position engaging with more responsibilities i.e. • Sourcing nomination till End of program ; • Leading timely deliverables, costing, cost reductions, release TO/ PO, support for quality reach, ensuring no line stop issues bcoz of parts, payments, audit support etc.
Responsible for Sourcing of Mirrors (Outer & Inner) for Asia Pacific region. • Part of team spread across APA to understand Line of Business for all relevant Sourcing of Vehicle programs - Raising RFQ, Costing and Negotiations • Build & maintain relationship with Business / Functional managers, advising on souring options / strategies - Presenting Business case for Sourcing to Senior management (US, EU & China) • Work closely with regional & global matched pair for local, regional and global programs. • Examining vendors request for price change across regions, recommending optimum price and making final settlement through negotiation. • Act as key liaison with different vendors, Engineering for Tooling Go Ahead & Part approval to achieve target as per vehicle & quality milestones. • Capacity Study & enhancement at Vendor’s end with Ford increasing Production plan. • Negotiate and achieve YOY cost reductions through development, VAVE discussions & utilization of analytical tools to deliver Best-In-Class pricing. • Actively led Global B-car profitability, benchmarking study of Mirrors and Global B-Car BoB approach with 3rd part consultancy support.
Responsible for Sourcing Soft trims & Climate Control (HVAC) for Asia Pacific & Africa region.
• Lead development, supply chain activities of Engine Cylinder Head / Block, Crankshaft Connecting rod machining & other critical parts and stamping parts • Responsible from intial supplier identification till part acceptance till & SOP implementation. • Block & Head Rejection control from 32% to 12%, which contributed cost savings. • Initiated VE projects, which were successful & contributed to savings
