I have worked for large and small organisations in the construction, home improvement and energy sectors at senior management level for the past 25 years, I specialise in change and process management implementing strategy to develop controlled growth and profitability whilst maintaining customer service levels. I have excellent operational skills and an in depth knowledge of business management. I have had P & L responsibility in my last 5 roles ranging from 120 million to 20 million and I have been able to improve revenue and profitability within these organisations by managing change and the implementation of procedures to streamline the business flow and developing teams with a common objective. I have a breadth of knowledge and experience across a number of industries specialising in Business Development, Change management, Contract Negotiation and business solutions among many other skill sets working at both strategic and tactical levels in large and medium sized organisations. I have recently been involved in developing innovative solutions to bring new products and revenue streams into organisations and ultimately bringing these ideas to life having sourced product, negotiated contracts, resolved logistics, created cost models and forecasts, developed business process’s and delivering them to the market. I am a results driven individual who is comfortable working autonomously or within a team.
I joined Homebase to introduce windows and doors to the retail sector, I established manufacturing relationships and introduced service delivery to the end user, I established both cost and retail pricing to deliver the appropriate margins, working directly with manufacturers to establish an appropriate product specification and a delivery infrastructure across the UK to both national and regional installation partners whilst simultaneously working with software developers to create an online sales tool for the design and pricing of all products which was made available to the public and internal sales staff, sales launched in April 2014 in a hand full of retail outlets and delivered two million in its first year of trading, the project was the expanded over several months to over 260 retail outlets across the UK. I was responsible for all aspects of the business including customer service, profitability, recruitment, training & development, reporting monthly directly to the senior management team
My brief was to develop an existing renewable energy business across the south of England from an existing 50k per week, within 18 months I had developed the business to an average 200k per week, this was achieved by developing both human resources for both surveying and installations plus increasing the warehousing with the introduction of additional warehouses in the south combined with liaising with existing suppliers on logistics and lead times as well as working closely with a new sales force with training and development. Reporting directly to the Operations Director I had responsibility for the intake of new business ensuring profitability together with customer service levels, the introduction of new products and the development and training of all personnel
I was invited to support these organisations on a short term arrangement to develop new business, primarily within the housing association sector but to also to explore the private sector, The role involved a team of three people researching and submitting tenders across the south of England and networking within the medical, educational & private care home sectors, I had some success securing contracts ranging from 12k to 750k
My role when joining Everest was to develop an operational infrastructure for this new revenue stream, The Business quickly developed with turnover exceeding 3.5 million in the first twelve months which was administered through a central office. As a result of this success a new company was formed “Everest Energy Ltd” which deals in a number of Energy products including Solar PV and Thermal, Insulation products, replacement boilers and central heating systems. In setting up this Company I have established joint business venture agreements and business to business agreements to enable Everest Energy to meet demands within the energy market My responsibility is to deliver high volume in a timely manner and within budgets whilst maintaining customer service expectations, reporting directly to the main board on agreed SLA’S , KPI’s and profit and loss In addition to the above role I also work within the innovations team developing new concepts and identifying new revenue streams for the company then bringing these ideas to life within the business in the last twelve months we have created two new companies and three new sources of income to the business.
