- Daily management of the production team including all aspects from design handover through to delivery to end customer. - Overall responsibilities involved, timely management of fabric and trim procurement, all sampling, fabric approvals, lay planning and costings. - Managing all garment delivery shortages against order quantity and also any garment / fabric / trim defects, with a view to reconciling any resultant claims with the suppliers. - Based in London, with regular visits to factories in Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Eastern Europe, with a remit to cover all of the above plus in line and end product quality. -Additional project - central to the implementation of an integrated planning system (Vision) to manage the business from design stage through to delivery to end customer - including financials.
- New Position within All Saints to source and set up new tailoring factories in Eastern Europe and Turkey specifically for the manufacture on Mens and Ladies Tailored Coats and Jackets. Additional product in this region for which I was responsible was heavily treated denim product and leather jackets. - Plan production, agree delivery dates, negotiate costings and oversee quality of finished goods. - Additionally, My brief was to manage out of long standing relationships with "agents" in Portugal and to set up and recruit a team to run a fully owned office to replace these.
- Daily management of a team of approx. 35 based in London covering production, Q.C and technical, pattern cutting, fabric, and trim procurement. - Extensive sourcing trips to Eastern Europe, China and India covering all aspects above and specifically price negotiations. - Product mix is Womenswear and Menswear (formal and casual) including all accessories. - Introduction and development of an integrated softwear system (Fast React) to manage the business end to end.
General management of a Turkish J.V. covering all aspects of production, quality, merchendising and logistics. The factory employed 2000 operators and produced on average 75000 (casual and formal) trousers and skirts per week. I ran the factory for 5 years until its eventual closure due to increased competition from direct suppliers in 2004. I returned to the UK in March 2004 to take up the position of planning and merchandising executive for the entire business, covering of all factory units in China, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Morocco, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
