Vestas Special Projects - Major Components Exchange on JUV/CTV, Multiple Wind Farms, V164 9.5MW Turbines Replacing generator and gearbox, MSI cable mounting, disassembling/reassembling slipring, cable trays, nacelle flooring, cooling pipes, hydraulics, RTU hoses and pipework. Correctly routing hoses, removing/reassembling super bolts, operating sliding tool, generator fans and banking generators/gearboxes. Correctly attaching slings and shackles. Supporting and improving team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices. Using excellent interpersonal skills underpinned with strong verbal and written communications capability. Tackling complex multi-disciplinary tasks with minimal supervision independently or as part of a team. Moray East, Vestas Offshore SOV - Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulic Upgrades - Vestas V164 9.5MW Turbines Installing and replacing faulty components. Troubleshooting and reading schematics to fault find, repair or replace electrical components. Working with MV/LV systems, multimeters and voltage testers. Correctly routing/terminating wires, exchanging spinner hatches, replacing return line filter housing, retrofitting filtration unit, replacing rubber sleeve on generator/hydraulic accumulator O-ring from HYDAC and installing blade cover plates. Replacing wire rest for hydraulic nacelle crane, repairing/upgrading slipring, repairing hub access hatch and upgrading bolt connections, Upgrading relay type LSI filter, recharge resistor, IP2X cover plates, aluminium arm for cable loop, nacelle, heli-hoist and hatch dampner module. Providing yaw power back feed and changing bracket for ASD sensor pcm03 at DC connection. Responding promptly and effectively to changing circumstances, planning for contingencies and managing priorities. Decision making, implementing the required process resulting with the best outcome. Identifying improvements which can be made to make the job more efficient. Implementing and supporting effective working practices and systems as required to improve work scope delivery.
Murley Mountain, Ireland - Installation Vestas V136 4.5MW Turbines Preparing drive train from when received to be ready to lift. Preparing tower and installing lift cables. Preparing nacelle, lifting and placing fibres, cooler tops and all internal prep work. Preparing foundations, levelling foundation, cleaning bolts and applying non afta. Preparing blade, building blade covers, installing lightning protection and putting studs in correct distances. Installing in base tower and M1, torquing/tensioning to correct settings and measuring bolts before and after tension. Top Team installing middle and top towers, nacelle, hub and blades. Carrying out finishing work in nacelle. Complying with all relevant procedures and deliver high standards of safety performance during all operations. Exercising excellent interpersonal and team management skills to generate optimum performances. Assisting others, decision making, implementing the required process resulting in the best outcome. Working in a fast-paced high-pressure environment with the ability to consistently meet deadlines with the highest quality whether working solo or as part of a team.
