Safety, safeguarding and risk reduction leader with a background in serious crime investigation and public protection across policing and critical national infrastructure. As a Detective in one of Scotland’s busiest divisions, I led complex investigations and made high-stakes decisions in fast-moving, high-risk environments. That experience shaped my ability to assess threat quickly, manage risk proportionately and coordinate multi-agency responses to protect vulnerable people. I now apply that same intelligence-led, preventative approach at Network Rail, where I lead the strategy, governance and delivery of route crime, safeguarding and suicide prevention across Scotland’s Railway. I design and commission targeted interventions that reduce harm, improve operational performance and build long-term resilience across communities and the transport network. My work brings together data, partnerships and practical solutions — aligning Train Operating Companies, British Transport Police, Samaritans, local authorities and third-sector organisations to prevent incidents before they occur. Alongside my professional role, I volunteer in youth football coaching, supporting younger children in developing teamwork, discipline and confidence within a safe and structured environment whilst most importantly having fun. I’m motivated by doing the right thing, creating safer environments through early intervention, problem solving and sustainable change.

Detective | 2023 – 2024 In my role with Police Scotland’s Greater Glasgow CID Reactive, I responded to and investigated serious crimes with a focus on high-stakes, time-sensitive incidents. I conducted detailed investigations, gathering evidence through witness interviews, CCTV analysis, and close collaboration with forensic teams. I ensured precise evidence collection to build robust cases and supported the pursuit of justice. Operating in high-pressure environments, I made swift, informed decisions and adapted to complex situations. My proactive approach to problem solving enhanced community safety while demonstrating strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage complex projects under tight deadlines.
🔹Greater Glasgow CID Serious and Organised Crime Proactive🔹 Police Constable | 2020 - 2023 As a Police Constable with Greater Glasgow CID Serious and Organised Crime Proactive, I focused on preventing involvement in organised crime, disrupting dangerous networks, dismantling their operations, and sharing critical intelligence. Engaging in both covert and overt work, I led teams in deployments against some of the country’s most dangerous crime groups. My role required strong analytical skills, effective communication, keen observation, teamwork, and unwavering professionalism. Key contributions: • Team collaboration: Worked closely with colleagues and other police departments—including intelligence, forensics, and counter-terrorism—to dismantle high-profile crime groups using innovative tactics. This collaboration resulted in numerous arrests and the seizure of drugs, cash, and assets, while also implementing crime prevention orders to deter reoffending. • Leadership and operational command: Briefed and led teams during operations and search warrants. Demonstrated decisive leadership and adaptability in dynamic situations, ensuring that every operation achieved positive outcomes despite unexpected developments. • Interagency and legal collaboration: Coordinated with the Serious and Organised Crime Procurator Fiscal to prepare robust cases for the High Court. This involved compiling and presenting evidence, managing detailed case reports, and ensuring seamless communication with legal authorities. • Operational ownership: Managed complex operations by collaborating with partners such as the Scottish Prison Service to apprehend serious offenders. Reported cases to the Crown Office and actively participated in high court preparations, ensuring every case was built on a solid evidentiary foundation.

My role involved strategic intelligence gathering and targeted operations, requiring a keen understanding of evolving criminal trends, focused observation, clear communication, and collaboration with specialist departments and partner agencies. Key Contributions: ● Skill Development: Gained specialisms in proactive policing, enhancing my skills in real-time decision-making, observation, effective communication, analytical thinking, adaptability, attention to detail, and teamwork. ● Investigative Training: Trained in the investigative interview of suspects and witnesses. Successfully completed the Initial Investigator Portfolio and passed the National Investigators Exam. ● Operational Success: Led and participated in operations resulting in the large-scale seizure of controlled drugs, reporting several cases to the Crown Office, some of which were heard at the High Court. These operations led to the arrest and conviction of multiple offenders, significantly impacting local communities. My role demanded the ability to brief and lead teams in executing search warrants and arresting offenders while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and police procedures.
