-Leading an award-winning health promotion and widening participation programme that trains doctors and medical students to deliver interactive health education sessions in primary schools across London. -Over the past year, I have recruited and coordinated a team of volunteer doctors and medical students, built partnerships with primary schools and led hands-on sessions teaching children how to self-care for common childhood illnesses. Watching children use stethoscopes, take temperatures and light up when a doctor walks into their classroom is why this work matters. - We visit schools directly, sit with the children and make learning about health feel fun, accessible and exciting. The feedback from teachers and children alike has been wonderful, and seeing a child decide they want to be a doctor one day makes every session worth it.
- Serving as Obstetrics and Gynaecology Chair for Acamedics, UCL's student-led academic society dedicated to connecting medical students with meaningful research opportunities. - In this role, I recruited medical students into the society, conducted interviews to assess their interests and strengths and allocated each student to a research project best suited to their goals. I worked to ensure every student who came through had a genuine opportunity to engage with academic medicine and develop their research skills early in their training. -This role has strengthened my skills in leadership, organisation and mentorship, and reflects my belief that access to research should not depend on who you know. Every student deserves a fair chance to explore academic medicine.
