Accountable for timeliness, quality, and overall management for $3 Million or 20% of annual domestic CNC orders Employing six sigma principles to define the project management process across all known contingencies in order to identify best practices, issues, current task times, improvement effort results, and bottlenecks. Reviewing and interpreting 2-D and 3-D drawing/model proposals to determine manufacturability, pertinent inspection points, customer intellectual property redactions, and ensure proper pricing and lead times. Analyze, interpret, and communicate engineering changes, return merchandise agreements, and production issues in relation to potential schedule, financial, and manufacturability impacts.
• Developed and implemented go-to-market strategy, including value proposition, cost structure, partnerships, marketing, customer segmentation, and distribution channels. • Own the end-to-end creative process from initial scoping with clients through design and delivery of final products • Manage daily business operations, including finances, marketing, website design/maintenance, and implementation/delivery logistics to ensure the highest quality products are delivered to clients on schedule.
Oversaw and advised on all phases of the construction process to ensure final product met customer requirements. Owned project budgets ranging from $300K to $2M, and provided consultation on transactions by tracking invoices, purchase orders, and change orders during all phases of construction. Managed multiple vendors, including general contractors and architects to ensure work is completed to desired standards within a given timeline and budget. Utilized engineering and management skillsets to properly define scope, interpret designs, and measure performance to generate final product.
Managed a 4-person team composed of a space planner, detailer, mechanical designer, and CNC programmer in a matrix environment to deliver streamlined products from preliminary design renderings. Mentored and coached team members in CAD/CAM, manufacturing processes, and engineering concepts to enhance personal skillsets, workflow, and quality of final product. Directed the workflow to produce 3D models, CNC G-code, detailed blueprints, and installation instructions in close coordination with project managers to ensure timely product delivery. Oversaw and executed built-for-manufacture designs that reduce cost, size, weight, complexity, manufacturing time, and installation needs while maintaining high-end customer requirements.
Interpreting preliminary drawings to inform discrete design specifications, material selection, and building methodologies. Coordinating with carpentry, metal shop, CNC, and project management to ensure projects were completed with necessary schematics, materials, and personnel to meet strict project timelines. Leveraging both manual and automatic nesting to maximize material yield and minimize production time. Altering initial designs to decrease manufacturing time and increase material savings. Onboarding new CNC operators in the utilization of CAD/CAM software and best practices for design interpretation and alteration.
Served as lead designer, providing technical documentation, drawings, and test design/setup to support FDA-regulated products following ISO standards. Provided technical writing support including protocols and reports, Design History Files, and test method instructions. Supported FDA submissions via test setup and execution, including feasibility and product testing, as well as organization of required data collection sheets. Created SolidWorks drawings for 3-D printing and worked with vendors to specify compatible parts
