I am the Chief Coach at The Demo Coach, hailing from San Francisco, specializing in preparing people for high-stakes speaking opportunities. I transform individuals worldwide by helping them speak more confidently and enthusiastically, and by turning speaking anxiety into a superpower. I do this for TED Talks, Shark Tank appearances, investor pitching, customer presentations, and interviews, through engaging keynotes, workshops, and personalized coaching sessions, both live and remote. For 18 years, I’ve coached founders, execs, and brilliant humans who’d rather do literally anything else than walk out on stage and speak in public or virtually over a webcam. My style blends empathy, storytelling, and craft with just enough tough love to help turn anxiety into a superpower. I don’t just prep people to talk. I help them leave a mark, spark a smile, and occasionally drop jaws. With thousands of presentations under my belt, I have collaborated with national and international companies, including IBM, GetAround.com, Innovation Norway, Netflix, Bill.com, DXC-DELL, and Kaiser Permanente, to craft compelling content and deliver unforgettable presentations and talks. I am an Industry Fellow at UC Berkeley and Hong Kong Baptist University and a guest lecturer at Wharton Entrepreneurship and the University of Illinois GIES Business College. I'm also a two-time DEMOgod Award winner, author of Harnessing Your Speaking Anxiety, and co-author of Giving Memorable Product Demos. Every year, the Nordic Innovation House, brings between 20 and 30 of the most promising startups from Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland for an intense month in the Silicon Valley. Through workshops, introductions, events and mentor sessions, NIH accelerates and helps these companies build a foundation for sustainable scaling and global expansion.
The Kauffman Founders School is a free online video resource for entrepreneurs who need help in just about any area of their business. Some very famous speakers like Steve Blank are hosted along with some not so famous people like me. I have two series up: Powerful Presentations and Mastering Q&A. I continue to work with the Kauffman Foundation to provide support for entrepreneurs and the 1 Million Cups program throughout the United States.
