-International strategy consultant contracted by the New Zealand Government and seconded to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. -Formulated the ARMAC five-year strategy document in consultation with regional National Mine Action Authorities, Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and other key stakeholders. -Led project delivery for a number of operational and research projects, including the development of innovative green-financing mechanisms and environmental protection measures contributing to sustainable development efforts.
-International operations expert contracted by the New Zealand Government and seconded to the United Nations in Iraq. -Led a team of five international and national specialists within the Operational Planning and Information Management (IM) section. -Managed the complete life cycle of large-scale service contracts, encompassing tendering, procurement, budgeting, and seamless project management in challenging environments. -Engineered and executed robust planning, monitoring, and quality assurance systems, integrating cutting-edge data analysis tools for enhanced decision-making.
-Conducted capability research and formulated doctrine on behalf of the NZDF capability branch, focused on mobility, counter-mobility and explosive hazard clearance.
-Planned and executed peace-building operations involving multinational troops and assets within a dynamic, politically sensitive operating environment. Responsible for multi-million dollar resources and operating budget. -Cultivated relationships between multiple nations in the integration of operational plans. Constructed strong collaborative alliances and built consensus among nations to achieve common military-political cooperation goals and objectives. -Supervised a team of subject matter experts in the production, publishing, and briefing of substantial new operating doctrine (200 pages) which has now been adopted by the NZDF.
-NZDF subject matter expert on specialist search techniques and procedures. Authored new expeditionary specialist search standing operating procedures in light of developing improvised explosive treat trends to New Zealand forces in Afghanistan. -Provided the vision, leadership, direction for the Specialist Search Team. Worked extensively across government agencies including NZ Police, Aviation Security and Customs to execute both deliberate and high risk search operations where the threat of explosive hazards existed.
-Project managed numerous military engineering, construction and disaster relief operations, including commanding the Army Engineer contingent in response to New Zealand's worst natural disaster - the Christchurch Earthquake in 2011. -Raised, trained and sustained a specialist search team in support of the 2011 Rugby World Cup. -Responsible for 30 subordinates. Accountable for providing training, career management, mentoring and performance reporting. Consistently maintained the highest operational readiness of any Engineer troop within the New Zealand Army, averaging at over 85%.
