My research interests and goals lie in developing learning and prediction algorithms for classification and regression problems using machine learning and applied mathematics tools. I use a variety of pattern recognition techniques including Gaussian processes and deep neural nets for spatio-temporal statistics, nonlinear systems in biology and finance, and user-sentiment analysis. I also have a strong interest in numerical analysis and high performance computing, fostered by my previous position as a research assistant in computational fluid dynamics. My interests here lie in algorithms for very large matrices and optimization problems, along with the efficient implementation of these algorithms.
