I believe myself to be a strong and equipped worker who strives to never leave anything behind. I am goal oriented and I never give up an opportunity to learn from those around me. My duty is to my workplace/constituents and I hope to serve to the best of my ability while creating a positive environment for all who are involved. My #1 objective is to always give respect and find the best way to solve any issue.
I supervise all operations of Grand Caverns, such as employee management, advertising, gift shop purchasing, pool operations, park rentals, company picnics, citizen recruitment, event management/planning, account receivables, accounts payable, human resource management, budgeting processes, budget proposals, etc. The Town of Grottoes owns and operates Grand Caverns Park as well as Mountain View Park. I am the Director for both parks and ensure smooth operations for both.
Responsible for Parks and Recreation for the Town of Grottoes. This included management of the local Grand Caverns, voted #2 Caverns in America by Parade Magazine. Management experience included over 20 employees, with all aspects of hiring/dismissal. advertising, billing, account receivables, payroll, Request for Proposals for the Town, Gift Shop management, monthly/yearly reports to Town Council. I also managed the Town of Grottoes Public Pool and contracted with the Waynesboro YMCA to staff lifeguards. I'm a Certified Pool Technician/Manager by National Pools and Spas of America. I worked at Grand Caverns for over 5 years as a Tour Guide, Lifeguard, and finally Assistant Manager of the Caverns and all Parks and Recreation. I pioneered a new Fountain Cave Adventure Tour, where I created a new 2-3 hour tour and led tourist in for a true caving experience. This still goes on today at the caverns. I also created the Town Easter Egg hunt, Town Camp out at Grand Caverns, and assisted with numerous other Town events. I have great experience with event planning/preparation and experience with aspects of media exposure.
