Held regular office hours to help students with C homeworks that included concepts such as pointer manipulation, debugging, multithreading, networking, and low-level system calls. Also assisted with Git and terminal related issues. Homeworks consisted of implementing malloc/free and related functions, a custom shell, and other things covered in the K&R C textbook. Helped write, proctor, and grade exams that covered the previously mentioned topics. Assisted in writing a homework that involved concurrent queues and hashmaps and UNIX socket programming. Wrote automated grading unit tests that checked for correct implementation and functionality of the concurrent data structures.
Instagram Video Infrastructure, Backend Implemented a new storage model for video encoding metadata to enable asynchronous transcoding on upload. Designed experiments, logged performance metrics, and created realtime dashboards to quantify impact on the service. Wrote automated integration tests to ensure code correctness.
Taught a class once a week on systems architecture. Tutored students in office hours on MIPS Assembly, boolean and circuit logic, and RISC processors. Proctored quizzes and exams throughout the semester.
Oversaw a coding lab twice a week and assisted students with Java programming. Tutored students in logical expressions, data structures, and algorithms.
